Herbert Eimert (April 8, 1897 - December 15, 1972) was a German composer and musicologist, born in Bad Kreuznach. He studied at the Music Conservatory of Cologne and Cologne University. Eimert worked as a journalist and served as a music editor and programmer at a radio station. In 1951, he co-founded a renowned electronic studio with sound engineer Robert Beyer. From 1953 to 1962, he directed the studio and invited notable figures such as Karlheinz Stockhausen and Gottfried Michael Koenig to collaborate there.
