Hermanos Cortes, originally formed as a Costa Rican trio in 1962, evolved into the renowned group Los Hermanos Cortez in 1965 in León, Nicaragua. They became one of the most influential groups in the tropical music genre during the 60s and 70s. Tragically, on April 22, 1974, they were involved in a car accident that claimed the lives of three trumpet players and the vehicle's driver. After a two-year hiatus, they made a comeback with a new full-length album (LP).
