Hermeto Pascoal was a Brazilian composer, multi-instrumentalist, and musical innovator, born on June 22, 1936, in Lagoa da Canoa, Alagoas, Brazil. He passed away on September 14, 2025, in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Known for his experimental approach and ability to play virtually any instrument, Pascoal became a highly influential figure in Brazilian and international jazz and avant-garde music. He collaborated with renowned artists, including Miles Davis, and was famous for incorporating everyday objects into his performances. Throughout his career, he composed over 2000 instrumental pieces and remained creatively active until his late years.
