Hess Is More is a musical project initiated by Danish musician Mikkel Hess, which has evolved into a circular transatlantic ensemble featuring musicians from Copenhagen, New York, and Berlin. The group has released 10 albums along with several EPs and singles, creating music that blends elements of jazz, kraut, electronica, pop, folk, and more. With a strong tradition of interdisciplinary collaborations, Hess Is More has contributed music to ballet, art installations, and various other art forms. This commitment to integrating music with other disciplines is highlighted in their concert series titled “Apollonian Circles.” Bandleader Mikkel Hess is also an accomplished composer for film and theatre. The ensemble includes a diverse group of musicians from different cities, with notable members from New York, Copenhagen, and Berlin, as well as an extended live family of collaborators.
