Hessel Veldman, born in 1956, is a musician, composer, and radio producer known for his exploration of uncomfortable music. His fascination with electronic noise and dissonance began in the early 1970s, leading him to create a diverse array of experimental compositions and radio productions. In 1980, he produced his first experimental solo work for the Dutch broadcasting company VPRO. He gained recognition during the Holland Festival of 1983 in Amsterdam with a sound-poetry show presented over four nights at the Schouwburg. Throughout the 1980s and 1990s, he created numerous experimental radio plays under various names, which were broadcast worldwide. From 1982 to 1995, Veldman ran a private cassette label, releasing music albums and video productions under various artist names. In 2004, he released the CD and began regularly performing solo or collaborating with like-minded artists upon request. That same year, he started producing for Concertzender public-radio in The Netherlands.
