HHY & The Macumbas is a musical ensemble based in Porto, Portugal, led by Jonathan Saldanha (HHY). The group is known for its unique blend of space-age voodoo-dub, featuring an intense mix of bone-percussion, sub-bass pressure, horn clusters, and echo effects reminiscent of a Skull Cave. Drawing inspiration from electricity, authors like Ballard, Sherwood, Burroughs, and Carpenter, they utilize Dub to explore the sonic spectrum and rhythms emerging from the mental jungle.
