Hickory Wind was a psychedelic rock band from Evansville, Indiana, active in the late 1960s. The group featured members who had previously played in the Kentucky-based band Rouges. They released their only album through the local label Gigantic Records. While some sources suggest that only 100 copies were pressed, the band recalls a larger number, although most of the pressing seems to have vanished over time. Their atmospheric music blends psychedelic rock with rural and country influences, making their album a sought-after collector's item. Comparisons have been drawn to West Coast bands such as Moby Grape and Kak. Hickory Wind played few live shows and, after disbanding, evolved into B.F. Trike, excluding Sonny Prentice and Carl Rodenberg. The lineup included Sonny Prentice on lead guitar, Alan Jones on rhythm guitar and bass, Carl Rodenberg on keyboards, Bobby Strehl on drums, and Mike McGuyer on harp and guitar.
