Hidemi Saito (1933-2008) was a prominent Japanese electronic organist and composer, born in Kyoto. He graduated from the composition department of Kyoto University of the Arts and became one of Japan's leading figures in the Electone music scene during the 1960s to 1980s. As an Emeritus Professor at the Faculty of Music in Tokushima Bunri University and a Special Advisor at the Shanghai Conservatory of Music, he significantly contributed to the field. In 1969, Saito gained international recognition as a "Keyboard Magician" during his performances in Europe and went on to participate in approximately 37 artistic events worldwide, including in the US and across Asia. He was a pioneer in interpreting Yamaha's Electone organ with Western and Latin music in Japan during the early 1970s, aiming to promote the Yamaha Electone series. Saito also engaged in various music tournaments, such as the "God of Aunipan Ard" Tournament, and composed works like "Arochi and Noh," showcasing traditional Japanese arts. His notable compositions include "Zama-style," "Yamatai Kuni," and "Fubayashi Oyama," all of which received acclaim. In 1985, he participated in numerous concerts and competitions in Mainland China, gaining considerable popularity.
