High on Fire is an American heavy metal band hailing from Oakland, California, formed in the late summer of 1998 by Matt Pike, Des Kensel, and George Rice. The band has released nine studio albums and achieved significant recognition, winning a Grammy Award in 2019 for "Best Metal Performance" for their song "Electric Messiah." The current lineup includes Matt Pike on guitars and vocals since the band's inception, and a bassist who joined in 2006. The drumming position has seen a recent change, with a new drummer set to join in 2025. High on Fire has seen various members come and go, with former members including drummers and bassists who contributed to the band's early years and evolution.
