Hijrah was a spiritual R&B vocal group formed in Oakland, CA, around 1980, led by Wahid Taha and his late wife, Da'iyah Taha. The group is known for their beautiful multipart harmonies and soulful tracks that convey an uplifting message. Their sound features a touch of jazz, thanks to the contributions of producer Rudi Mwongozi and guitarist Wali Ali. Their work, particularly the album "Truly Free / Time," is considered a revelation.
