Hildur Guðnadóttir is an Icelandic cellist, composer, and singer, born on September 4, 1982, in Reykjavik. She is a prolific indie artist known for her numerous collaborations with various musicians and projects, including Ilpo Väisänen's Angel and Robert Aiki Aubrey Lowe, among others. In 2007, she released her debut solo album, "Mount A," under the alias Lost in Hildurness, where she played and recorded multiple instruments, including cello, viola, piano, zither, vibraphone, and gamelan. Her follow-up album, "Without Sinking," was released in 2009 by a British label, along with her concert album "Leyfðu Ljósinu," which captures a live performance without any editing or post-production. Her most recent work, "Saman," combines her voice and cello to create a singular instrument sound. In addition to her music, Guðnadóttir is a vocal performer and has arranged a choir for Throbbing Gristle performances in Austria and the UK. As a composer, she wrote the score for the play "Sumardagur," performed at Iceland's National Theatre, and for the Danish film "Kapringen."
