Hipnosis, also known as Hypnosis on some records, was a prominent Italian techno-disco band formed in Parma in the early '80s by Stefano Cundari. The lineup included Paul Sears and Ugo Solenghi, with Angelo Bergamini from Kirlian Camera joining in 1982. The band gained attention with their cover of "Pulstar" by Vangelis, recorded for Memory Records in collaboration with Anfrando Maiola from Koto. Over time, the original members departed, and Bergamini chose not to remain with the new lineup during a sixty-date world tour. Paul Sears officially joined Kirlian Camera's new lineup during this transition. In 1987, Cundari released a 7"/12" single titled "Droid" under the Hipnosis name before his passing, marking the end of the official Hipnosis story. In 1991, a CD anthology titled "Hypnosis" was released. The following year, Humphrey Robertson produced a single and an album for ZYX Records using the Hypnosis name, indicating an attempt to revive the project with different musicians. The last known release associated with this revival was a 12" record in 1994. In 2006, Angelo Bergamini recorded "Kaczynski Code" for the Kirlian Camera album "Coroner's Sun" under the name Hipnosis Italy.
