Hiroshi Miyagawa was a Japanese pop songwriter and arranger, born on March 18, 1931, in Rumoi, Hokkaido, Japan. He gained recognition for his work with female singers, including Sachiko Nishida, and for composing theme songs for television and film. Miyagawa is particularly known in the anime world as the composer for the series "Space Battleship Yamato," which aired from 1974 to 2006. He passed away from heart failure on March 21, 2006, in Setagaya, Tokyo, Japan. He was the father of a successor who took over his works related to "Yamato" after his death.
