Hiroshi Yoshimura (22 October 1940 – 23 October 2003) was a Japanese musician and composer, renowned as a pioneer of Kankyō ongaku (ambient music). He began his music career in 1972 by forming the computer music group 'Anonyme' and released his first album, 'Music For Nine Post Cards', in 1982. In addition to solo performances and improvisational music, Yoshimura was involved in sound design for various art venues, corporations, and public services, including projects for the Kanagawa Prefectural Museum of Cultural History, Shiseido, and NHK. He graduated from the Department of Fine Arts at Waseda University and served as a part-time lecturer in the Department of Music Design at Kunitachi College of Music and in the Department of Industrial Design at Chiba University. He also participated in workshops at museums, particularly the Meguro Museum of Art.
