Honey Bane, born Donna Tracy Boylan on November 4, 1963, in London, is a British singer and actress best known for her 1981 UK Top 30 single “Turn Me On Turn Me Off.” She began her musical career at the age of 14 in 1978 when she formed the punk rock band the Fatal Microbes, which released a split 12” record with the anarcho-punk band Poison Girls that same year. Their first single, “Violence Grows,” received positive reviews from the British music paper Sounds. After the Fatal Microbes disbanded in 1979, Honey Bane spent time in a juvenile detention facility, which attracted media attention. Following her release, she collaborated with the anarcho-punk band Crass while evading Social Services after serving a sentence at the St. Charles Youth Treatment Centre in Essex. Under the name Donna and The Kebabs, she provided lead vocals for Crass's EP “You Can be You” in 1980. That year, she also sang for the post-punk band Killing Joke on the song “What’s the Matter” during a live performance at London’s Venue club, which was later included in the album “Killing Joke - Live At The Venue LP.” In 1980, she met Sham 69 vocalist Jimmy Pursey, who began managing her musical career. She signed a five-year contract with EMI/Zonophone records later that year.
