Horace Parlan (January 19, 1931 - February 24, 2017) was an American-born Danish modern jazz pianist, known for his strong left hand. Born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, he was discovered by a notable figure in the jazz scene and played and recorded with him from 1957 to 1959. Throughout his career, Parlan collaborated with various artists and moved to Copenhagen in 1972, where he later became a Danish citizen in 1995.
