Horoya Band is a Guinean band formed in 1961. Led by its members, the band gained recognition by winning the best orchestra prize at the Quinzaine Artistiques Festival in 1967, 1968, and 1971. In 1971, Horoya Band was "nationalized" by a decree from then president of Guinea, Sékou Touré. Throughout their career, they recorded under various names, including Horoya Band, Horoya Band National, and National Horoya Band, until disbanding in 1974.
