Horsepower Productions is a unique collective credited alongside El-B and the Ghost collective for the creation of dubstep. Originally formed by No U-Turn stalwarts Nassis and Lev Jnr, their more recent work has been primarily the output of Benny Ill, who was joined by newcomer Jay King on the 2009 comeback single "Kingstep," and by Nassis and Lev Jnr again on the 2010 album "Quest For The Sonic Bounty." As born and bred Londoners, the roots of Horsepower's sound reflect the cultural diversity of the city, drawing inspiration from UK Garage, Techno, House, Dub, Broken-Beat, Hip-Hop, Reggae, D&B, Funk, Soul, and a wide array of global cinema samples.
