Hot 8 Brass Band is a brass band from New Orleans, USA, formed in 1995 by Bennie Pete, Jerome Jones, and Harry Cook. The current line-up includes multiple trumpets, Jerome "Baybay" Jones on trombone, Jereau "Cousin" Fournett on trombone, a saxophone player, and a bass drum. The band has experienced the loss of several past members, including a tuba player and band leader who passed away on September 6, 2021, at the age of 45, and a snare drum player who died on December 28, 2006, at the age of 25. Other notable past members include Jacob Johnson, a trumpet player who died in 1996 at the age of 17, and a trombone player who passed away on August 3, 2004, at the age of 22. Demond "Bart" Dorsey and another trombone player who died on January 13, 2021, at the age of 56, are also part of the band's history.
