Hot Snow was a 60s/70s musical group from Southern California, USA, known for its unique interracial dynamic. Originally formed as Freddie Snow & his Snow-men in 1966, the group featured Dorothy McDonald on vocals alongside Freddie Snow. After gaining the attention of booking agent Gail McConkey, they relocated to Los Angeles, where McConkey expanded the lineup to include Roger Alves, Fred O'Brien, Harvey "Jackson" Self, Terry Curran, and Sharon Robinson, renaming the band Hot Snow. They recorded two original tracks at Hollywood's T.T.G. Studios, with the assistance of an engineer who had worked with Jimi Hendrix, and these tracks were released on Hadley Murrell's label in 1971. However, the group faced challenges, including a violent incident during a 1979 club gig in Fresno, where the audience reacted negatively to their mixed membership. Following the breakup of Dorothy and Fred, the band disbanded shortly thereafter.
