Hot Streak was a disco band hailing from New Jersey, USA. Originally formed as a quartet performing gospel music, the group transitioned to contemporary R&B in 1982. They began under the name “A Different Flavour” before changing to “Special Forces,” during which they released a single titled “Stroke It.” The band collaborated with Curtis Hudson and his wife, Lisa Stevens, leading to their rebranding as Hot Streak. In 1983, they signed with Easy Records and released their only single “Body Work,” which achieved notable success, peaking at #6 on Billboard’s Hot Dance Music/Club Play Singles chart and #19 on the U.K. Singles chart. The track was also featured on the soundtrack of the film “Breakin'.” The members of Hot Streak included Derrick Dupree (vocals), Al Tanner (lead guitar), Jacob Dixon (bass), and Ricci Burgess (drums).
