Hozan Yamamoto was a renowned Japanese shakuhachi performer and composer, born on October 6, 1937, in Otsu, Shiga. He passed away on February 10, 2014. In recognition of his exceptional contributions to music, he was honored as a "living national treasure" by the Japanese government in 2002.
