Hubert Kah is a German synthpop band led by Hubert Kemmler, who serves as the vocalist and keyboardist. The band started as a trio, originally consisting of Kemmler, a guitarist, and a bassist during the New German Wave in 1982. They achieved commercial success with singles like "Rosemarie," "Sternenhimmel," and "Einmal nur mit Erika... (dieser Welt entfliehn)," along with albums such as "Meine Höhepunkte" and "Ich komme." Kemmler gained attention for his unique TV appearances, often wearing a nightdress or straitjacket. In 1984, the band began collaborating with a producer and released the German album "Goldene Zeiten." They followed this with English-language albums "Tensongs" in 1986 and "Sound of My Heart" in 1989, which found some international success. However, in the late 1980s, Kemmler faced health issues related to depression and withdrew from music entirely. After recovering, he reformed the band in 1996, releasing a self-titled album and singles like "C'est La Vie" and "Sailing," though this production did not achieve the expected commercial success. In 1998, a new single titled "Love Chain" and a Best Of CD were released, but Kemmler faced health challenges again and required medical treatment.
