Hugh Bullen was a Trinidad and Tobago-born jazz bassist who made a significant impact in Italy's music scene. He began his musical journey at the age of fifteen when he joined the Soul Trinity band as a bass player, performing alongside his brother and supporting acts such as the John Mayall Blues Band. Later, Hugh joined a prominent soul band at the Hammersmith Odeon in London, where he performed with American soul singers. While touring in Italy, he caught the attention of American musician Wess, who invited him to join his band. This opportunity led Hugh to stay in Italy for several years, where he became one of the country's most sought-after bass players. In Milan, he recorded and performed with renowned Italian songwriters and was instrumental in creating the "Milan Sound," which is recognized in Italian rock music history. Hugh also released a solo album titled "Feeling," in collaboration with guitarist from a progressive band. In the late 1970s, he began releasing disco-style singles, primarily in Italy. Hugh returned to England in 1979 and played with a band as a fill-in sub, contributing to their fifth album, "Move It to the Music." In the 1990s, he returned to London to join an R&B band, touring extensively across Europe and performing at prestigious venues.
