**Humble Pie Biography** Humble Pie was formed in 1968 by Steve Marriott, Greg Ridley, Peter Frampton, and Jerry Shirley. The band's debut single, "Natural Born Bugie," became a hit in the UK Singles Chart, leading to the release of their first album, *As Safe As Yesterday Is*, which peaked at number sixteen in the UK album charts. Their second album, *Town and Country*, was released in 1969 while the band was on their first tour in the USA, showcasing a more acoustic sound with contributions from all four members. In 1970, Humble Pie signed with A&M Records, releasing the self-titled album *Humble Pie*, which featured a mix of progressive rock and hard rock. The following year, A&M released *Rock On* and a live concert album, *Performance: Rockin' the Fillmore*, both of which achieved gold status. The track "I Don't Need No Doctor" became an FM radio hit in the USA, boosting the album's popularity. After the recording of *Rockin' the Fillmore*, Frampton left the band and was replaced by Dave "Clem" Clempson. The band shifted towards a harder sound, emphasizing Marriott's blues and soul influences, resulting in the album *Smokin'*, which included hits like "Hot 'n' Nasty" and "30 Days in the Hole." This became their most commercially successful record, reaching #6 on the US charts
