HWYUIOD is a shoegaze and post-rock trio based in Paris, originally formed as a side project by local musicians. They gained recognition with their collaborative LP, released in 2024 by Les Disques Omnison and Protopost. The band consists of Alan Briand (from Shelter), Tom Val (from Orion), and Thomas Riguelle. HWYUIOD's sound is a dynamic blend of influences, including electronic hypnosis, shoegaze, and avant-garde elements, creating a unique musical experience that reflects the interplay of its members. Their work embodies a philosophical approach, suggesting that their music is a journey through dreams and human emotion, where slacker rock and slow-core converge.
