Ian Dury and the Blockheads

Ian Dury and the Blockheads were an art-rock group formed in London, UK, in 1977. The band centered around the songwriting and performance of singer Ian Dury, alongside guitarist and keyboardist Chaz Jankel, with the original lineup also featuring Norman Watt-Roy on bass, Mick Gallagher on keyboards, Davey Payne on saxophones, and Charlie Charles on drums. Active from 1977 to 1982, the group toured intermittently in 1987, 1990-1991, and 1994-1995. Following Dury's cancer diagnosis in March 1996, the band reformed later that year, concluding their performances with a final show on 6 February 2000. Ian Dury passed away on 27 March 2000. The group reformed in 2001 for a tribute album and has continued to perform with various lineup changes since then.
