Ice-T, born on February 16, 1958, in Newark, New Jersey, is an American rapper, musician, songwriter, author, record producer, and television actor. He moved to Los Angeles at the age of 12 and began his career as an underground rapper in the early '80s, embracing a west-coast style. In the early '90s, he became the leader of the heavy-metal band Body Count and simultaneously embarked on a serious acting career in 1991. Later, he returned to live on the east coast in Edgewater, New Jersey.
