IJO, born on April 17, 1983, in Klaipėda, Lithuania, began his musical career at the intersection of dark ambient, drum’n’bass, and drill’n’bass styles. Over time, he transitioned to more accessible genres such as easy listening, ambient, and IDM, while still maintaining his connection to twisted drum’n’bass. His music, characterized by syncopated polyrhythmic beats and carefully crafted atmospheres, reflects his experimentation with both lighter and darker styles. A significant breakthrough in his career occurred with the release of his light and jazzy EP, The Driw Play, by the online label Sutemos. This success established IJO as a key figure in major electronic music festivals and audiovisual projects in Lithuania. He describes his music as a reflection of his mood, expressing a desire for versatility and emotional depth in his work. In 2010, IJO founded his own micro record label.
