The Impressions were an American music group from Chicago, active from 1958 until 1983. Their repertoire included doo-wop, gospel, R&B, soul, and disco. Initially, from 1958 to 1960, they performed as Jerry Butler & The Impressions. The group was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1991 and the Vocal Group Hall of Fame in 2003. Throughout their career, they experienced various line-up changes, with notable periods of activity from 1958 to 2022.
