**Incredible Hog Bio** Incredible Hog was a three-piece band formed in early 1972 in London, emerging from the British Blues Boom of the 60s. The group consisted of guitarist/vocalist/songwriter Ken Gordon and bassist Jim Holmes, who had previously played together in the band Speed Auction. The band's name was inspired by the popular 'Incredible Hulk' comic book series. After several auditions, they found a permanent drummer, Tony Awin, who was born in South Africa. Struggling to secure gigs, the band established their own club, The Pig Sty, first in Ilford and later in Forest Gate, East London. They promoted themselves through ads in Melody Maker, which helped them gain some recognition, but they still faced challenges in attracting a record label. Ken Gordon's persistence led him to Dart Records, where he refused to leave until someone listened to their demo tape. His determination paid off, and Incredible Hog was signed within two weeks. The band's album was recorded in 1971/72 at Mayfair Sound Studios in London. However, the members felt disappointed with the final sound, believing it did not capture their live performance power. Gordon struggled with his equipment, as he was unable to turn his Marshall 100-watt amp to full volume, affecting the guitar sustain.
