Inner Circle is a Jamaican group formed in Kingston in 1968. The band originally consisted of brothers on guitar and bass, along with various backing players known as the Inner Circle. They collaborated with future members of other notable bands, including a keyboardist and lead singer who contributed to their international success. Inner Circle gained recognition with their pro-weed and anti-cocaine anthem "Mary Mary" and the album "Everything Is Great," released in late 1979 and early 1980. Following the untimely death of a legendary member in March 1980, the group lost its contract and experienced a commercial drought for over a decade. They made a significant comeback in 1993 with the summer hit "Sweat (A La La La La Long)" and provided the title track for the Hollywood movie "Bad Boys," featuring their then lead singer.
