Interpol is an American rock band formed in 1997 in Manhattan, New York. The original line-up included the lead vocalist and rhythm guitarist, the lead guitarist and backing vocalist, the bassist and keyboardist, and drummer Greg Drudy. Drudy left the band in 2000 and was replaced by another drummer. In 2010, Dengler departed to pursue other projects, leading Banks to take on the additional role of bassist. Since then, the band has included a bassist and a keyboardist/backing vocalist in their touring lineup, but they officially operate as a trio for studio recordings.
