Irakere is one of Cuba’s most influential bands, founded in 1973. The band is known for creating a unique sound that blends jazz, European traditional music, rock, funk, and the rhythmic traditions of Cuba, enriched with Afro-Cuban and electronic influences. Over the decades, many of Cuba's best musicians have been part of Irakere, including notable figures such as Chucho Valdés, Paquito D'Rivera, Arturo Sandoval, Carlos Averhoff, Jorge Varona, Germán Velazco, Enrique Plá, Carlos Emilio Morales, Carlos del Puerto, and Jorge Alfonso.
