Ivor Cutler (January 15, 1923 - March 3, 2006) was a highly eccentric artist from Glasgow, known for his work as a poet, singer, songwriter, storyteller, broadcaster, author, and teacher. His offbeat sense of humor and wonder at the world resonated with successive generations, attracting a dedicated following that included notable figures such as philosophers and members of The Beatles, John and Paul. Cutler wrote books for both children and adults and taught at A. S. Neill's Summerhill School, as well as in inner-city schools in London for 30 years. He retired from performing at the age of 82 and passed away after a brief period of Alzheimer's and ill-health, at the age of 83.
