Iz & Diz is a music duo consisting of Joshua Michaels (Iz) and Dwayne Washington (Diz), who have been friends since they met in Chicago in the 1990s. They both had their nicknames prior to their meeting, which led to their collaboration as Iz and Diz. Their musical journey began in 1994 when Joshua moved to Chicago, and they recorded their first track at a legendary studio in Detroit for a record label's offshoot. This marked the beginning of a series of well-received singles released on respected labels. Their debut single for Classic, "Wiggle While We Work," featured the notable track "Mouth," which was made entirely of vocal snippets from the duo. A remix EP of "Mouth" also released on Classic brought them international recognition, with remixes by various artists and support from influential platforms like Radio 1 in London and renowned figures such as Giles Peterson. Iz and Diz are not confined to just peak time house music; they produce a diverse range of sounds suitable for various occasions. Their work includes chilled-out midtempo tracks and driving disco-infused floor fillers. They have earned respect from DJs worldwide, receiving support from numerous prominent figures in the music industry.
