**J Majik Biography** Real Name: James Spratling J Majik, one of the youngest members of the Metalheadz stable, made his debut in 1993 with tracks for the Planet Earth label. His music, characterized by dark themes and exceptional drum and bass lines, often incorporates jazzy elements, such as the Spanish guitar featured in his first Metalheadz single, "Your Sound." Residing in Northwood on the edge of North West London, he began DJing in his early teens and released "The Choice" (also known as "6 Million Ways to Die") in 1993 under the alias DJ Dexxtrous. After a few more releases on his own label, he adopted the name J Majik for his 1995 debut on Metalheadz with "Your Sound," which became a classic and was later included in the Metalheadz Platinum Breakz compilation in 1996. In addition to singles like "Jim Kutta" and "Arabian Knights" for Metalheadz, J Majik also recorded for Mo'Wax and his own Infrared label, which released his debut LP, Slow Motion, in mid-1997. His career continued to flourish, and in 2002, he became one of the select few Drum & Bass artists to reach the UK Top 40 with the hit "Love is Not A Game" on Defected Records. That same year, he won Track of the Year at the UK
