Jack Jones was an American pop singer and actor, born on January 14, 1938, in Los Angeles, California. He began performing in the late 1950s and became known for his appearances on various television shows. Over his career, he charted 36 times in the U.S., with his first hit, "Lollipops and Roses," reaching the charts in 1962 and his last, "The Theme to the Love Boat," in 1980. Among his notable songs are two #1 hits on the adult contemporary charts: "The Race Is On" (1965), "The Impossible Dream (The Quest)" (1966), and "Lady" (1967). Jones won two Grammy Awards for his performances of "Lollipops and Roses" in 1962 and "Wives and Lovers" in 1964. He was married from 1967 to 1969 and passed away on October 23, 2024, in Palm Springs, California.
