Jaisun is a soul singer born in San Antonio, Texas, in 1966. She is the daughter of a New York jazz singer and later moved to Los Angeles, where she became a member of a musical group. Jaisun also wrote and directed "The Anatomy of a Woman Abused," a play based on her life.
