Jake Calypso is a French Rockabilly artist known for his strong Blues and Gospel influences. Born in the North of France in 1964, he began his musical journey at the age of 13 with a band called 'the Corals'. Over the years, he played with several bands, including 'Teddy Best', 'Hot Chickens', and 'Wild Boogie Combo', from 1978 to 2009. His first single under the name JAKE CALYPSO, titled 'My Baby Rocks', achieved significant success. Jake has released 7 studio albums, 2 compilations, and several singles and EPs through various labels, including his own Chickens Records, as well as Rock Paradise Records, Crazy Times Records, Migraine Records, and El Dandy Records. He has recorded at the legendary Sun Studio in Memphis four times, including a special project called 'The Memphis Blues Cream', which featured musicians from Memphis and paid tribute to Sun Records artists who came before Elvis. In 2023, he expanded his focus on Blues by forming the Jake Calypso Trio and is now recording for his new label, Around The Shack Records.
