James Brandon Lewis is a US tenor saxophonist and composer born in 1983 in Buffalo, New York. He received music lessons from Carol McLaughlin and attended the Buffalo Academy for the Visual and Performing Arts. After graduating, he continued his education at Howard University and later studied at CalArts. In 2010, he earned a Master of Fine Arts degree. Since 2012, he has been based in New York and has collaborated with various musicians throughout his career.
