James E. Burton, born on August 21, 1939, in Dubberly, Louisiana, grew up in Shreveport. He began his professional music career at the young age of 14, performing at club gigs and private parties. A member of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame since 2001, Burton's significant contributions to music have also earned him recognition in the Rockabilly Hall of Fame. He played a key role in assembling bands for early Ricky Nelson hits and was involved in Elvis Presley's comeback. Additionally, he contributed to the original hit "Susie Q" by Dale Hawkins.
