James Ingram was an American soul singer, songwriter, producer, and instrumentalist. He was born on February 16, 1952, in Akron, Ohio, and passed away on January 29, 2019, in Los Angeles, California. Ingram was known for his collaborations, having sung duets with various artists. In addition to his work in soul music, he also performed vocal work for house music producers. He is not to be confused with a member of a family soul group and was the older brother of another artist.
