James Welsh is an accomplished musician known for his work in the experimental punk/electronic group The Rise, where he handles electronic duties. Raised in a musical environment steeped in Blues and Bluegrass, James attended gigs from a very young age. He began playing guitar at the age of 8 and started experimenting with multiple tape recorders by the age of 14, which eventually led him to Texas to join The Rise. Under the name 'Ocelot,' he signed with Mark Jones’ Wall Of Sound label and performed at various venues, including the main stage at Creamfields and rooftops in Miami. James has officially remixed tracks for notable artists such as Rob Zombie, Depeche Mode, and Britney Spears. Currently, James is focusing on his solo career, with his debut release 'Air Valley' on Losing Suki receiving acclaim from fans like Gilles Peterson, Ben Westbeech, and Jimpster. He has upcoming releases on Wolf Music and Join The Dots, showcasing his evolution as an artist.
