James Whitney is a 1980s soul artist from Kansas City, Missouri. He is known for being the brother of another artist. In 1980, he had a single 45 released at the tail-end of a label. The tracks were recorded in St. Louis, Missouri, and the project was spearheaded by entrepreneur Jesse Hill.
