Jan Bradley is a renowned soul singer born on July 6, 1943, in Byhalia, Mississippi, and raised in Robbins, Illinois. She began her career performing songs written for her, but after a dispute over her publishing rights in the mid-1960s, she ceased collaboration with her songwriter. Known as a significant figure in the northern soul scene, she stopped singing professionally in the early 1970s to focus on raising her family and working as a social worker. Jan currently resides in the south suburbs of Chicago.
