Jane Birkin was a British actress and singer who spent much of her life in France. Born on December 14, 1946, in London, England, she became an It-girl during the swinging sixties, featuring in iconic films such as Richard Lester's "The Knack ... and how to get it" and Antonioni's "Blow Up." After marrying a movie scores composer and having a daughter who is a photographer, she relocated to France following their split. In France, she met Serge Gainsbourg, with whom she formed a legendary artistic collaboration, most notably on the controversial song "Je T'Aime ... Moi Non-Plus." They had a daughter who became an actress and singer. After separating from Serge in the late seventies, Jane lived with film director Jacques Doillon, with whom she had another daughter, a model and actress. Throughout the eighties, she continued to receive songs from her estranged mentor until his death in 1991. Following Serge's passing, Jane focused on her acting career, exploring theatre and directing a couple of films. She returned to music in the late nineties, reinterpreting Serge's back catalogue and releasing an album of collaborations in 2004 titled "Rendez-Vous," followed by "Fictions" in 2006.
