Janie Jones, born Marion Mitchell in 1941 in Seaham, County Durham, is a former English singer known for her controversial lifestyle in the 1970s. She gained notoriety for hosting sex parties at her home and was imprisoned for her involvement in controlling prostitutes. Her fame began in August 1964 when she attended the premiere of the film "London in the Raw" in a topless dress. The subject of the song "Janie Jones" by the English punk rock band The Clash, she was recognized as a prominent madam in London during the 1970s and had previously been a pop singer in the 1960s.
