JD Twitch was a UK DJ, producer, remixer, radio host, writer, event promoter, music consultant, activist, and label boss from Glasgow. He began his career as 'Twitch' while running the long-standing techno and leftfield night Pure in Edinburgh in 1990. In the late '90s, he adopted the 'JD' prefix with the famous Optimo nights in Glasgow. Besides DJing at Pure, he was half of a duo and ran his own label. He also managed various projects, including multiple offshoot labels, and was part owner/manager of a notable entity. From 2017 to 2019, he managed another significant project. JD Twitch passed away on September 19th, 2025, in Glasgow from terminal brain cancer.
