Jean Cohen-Solal, born in 1946, is a jazz flautist known for his contributions to experimental and free-jazz music. He is the brother of a well-known avant-garde musician. The family originated from Algiers and settled in Nimes, France, in the mid-1950s. Jean began his musical journey with experimental and free-jazz groups before forming his own psychedelic fusion band in the early 1970s. Following this period, he primarily worked as a session musician and recorded numerous library music LPs. It is important to note that he should not be confused with the free-jazz saxophonist.
